About UsSt. George Productions, LLC is a troupe of actors specializing in educating and entertaining audiences in life of Renaissance England in the time of Elizabeth I. Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth I is conducting her court with all the pomp and circumstance that surrounds the English Throne. She is attended by the upper crust of the Lords and Ladies of English Nobility, as well as the Yeomen of the Guard and other members of Her Majesty's Royal Household, along with others of the citizenry. Made up of approximately 25 performers, we provide a view into a time where individuals were born into their place in society by the will of God. With our experience in working at Renaissance Faires, schools, wine festivals, Scottish Highland Games, and city/county fairs and festivals, we pride ourselves in the ability to entertain and educate the public in ad-lib style and in close proximity - sometimes as close as one on one. It is with this kind of interaction between actor and audience that we particularly provide a new, fresh outlook on how people from Tudor England of 1575 might have related (or not!) to people of the 21st century. We find that this kind of acting provides the audience a finer appreciation of our craft, as well as our costumes:
All these things allow for our costumes to pass a close inspection and provides to our audience a realistic view of how fashion dictated form in Queen Elizabeth's court. Some of the things that the troupe can provide to your event are close-proximity characters with full backgrounds and knowledge of the world (as they know it!), knighting of children by royalty/nobility with certificates announcing their place as Lords and Ladies of the Court, raucous feasting, court intrigue and base comedy when "we" present our views based on sixteenth century views upon politics, religion, and the total lack of knowledge of modern inventions. (e.g.. try explaining an automobile to someone who has never known anything but a carriage, and that person keeps asking where the horses are!) Some of our past performances may be seen here.
