James M. "Doc" Amor

Jim has been a member of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire Blackfryars Cast for twelve years and recently also has been Assistant Director of the Blackfryar Cast. During those twelve years he has played roles as varied as Innkeeper, Privy Councilor, Yeoman, Keeper of the Royal Jewel House John Ashley, Spy Master Sir Francis Walsingham, Mancheco the Gitano and Sir Henry Stanley.

The Renaissance has been an interest of his from early on when he spent his summers in Spain as a child. There he fell in love with the splendor of Renaissance Spain and developed a respect for King Philip II. He has an extensive collection of minature castles and a suit of armor. An avid history buff, he enjoys reading historical documents and books.

He has been attending Renaissance faires since 1981, traveling to faires in NY, PA, MD, VA, TX, NC, OH, FL, and CO. In 1988, he married Patti in a Medieval Ceremony with a High Latin Mass. Both of their boys are involved in the Renaissance also. Billy is a jousting knight with Noble Cause Productions and performs at many faires across the nation. Jimmy has been a member of the PARF cast for all twelve years also, and is preparing to enter college to study theatre tech.

When not in the 16th Century, Jim likes to tinker with old cars. However, being a dentist is what pays the bills and allows him to enjoy his very expensive hobbies. Someday, he hopes to be able to live in an old castle and tilt at windmills.
