Barbara Tice

Barbara started singing in the church choir at a young age, later a member of school choirs and sang into adulthood, she traveled in a local production of Jesus Christ Superstar and later, Godspell. She was also involved in Rhythmic dance, at her church. While a teenager, and as an adult, she played on a Handbell choir. Being in the eye of on watchers seemed to come natural. In high school she was given a part in her senior play. This was her first real attempt of acting on stage. She embraced becoming someone different, visualizing how they might think and feel, in a given situation. Thus her interest in acting started smoldering. Not really doing a lot with it while raising a family, it was waiting to be fanned to become more of an ember later in her life.

Sewing is always a very big part of her background. She is especially interested in creating costumes, no challenge is too great. She created costumes for holidays as well as for the cast of several of her children’s high school musical productions, just to mention a few.

In 1997, she was introduced to the Virginia Renaissance Faire when her oldest son, while in college, was a trumpeter. She enjoyed being a patron, but the costumes, of course, caught her eye. She put herself to the challenge and the following year designed costumes for her then husband and herself. They won the patron’s costume contest that year. The following year she decided to become a member of the Guilde of St George/St. George Productions.

She enjoys the interaction with the patrons as well as the other actors portraying characters from the past, and enjoys the educational aspect of the craft as well. Learning how to do improvisational acting has challenged her abilities and helped her become more confident and outgoing.

Barbara has 3 married children, 2 sons and the youngest, a daughter.  All are or have been practicing musicians to some degree. She also has 2 Grandchildren, girls, and another on the way.

She works out of Atlanta as a flight attendant and has become somewhat transient, but is enjoying her travels and the many diverse people she has met along the way.
