Hello Gary,

I just wanted to let you know that your thesis is some excellent work!

Myself and 5 other gentlemen from the VA/MD/DC area portray Yeomen of the Guard at the Virginia Renaissance Faire and we spent some months writing a Manual of Arms that echoed some of your work, though we found out that at our point in history, each unit pretty much had their own commands. It appears that a Manual of Arms was not needed until the introduction of the matchlock and as we portray soldiers of 1575, we're a bit earlier than the references that you used. All in all, however, we were very pleased to find someone else's work that showed we were/are on the right track.

What I am doing now is converting our document into some form of a web page and I'd like to ask if I might put a link to (or a copy of) your thesis on our page. Do you have any plans to remove your thesis from the web in the future? If so, may I save your thesis to our web server and reference your home page/e-mail address?

We'd love to ensure that a historical reference that is as good as yours does not disappear and that it gets some recognition for the work that you put into it. I'll be sure to e-mail you with the web page when we have something up that looks good. Let me know what your decision is and I'll certainly abide by it.

Thanks again and good luck in your future!

Michael Sanders (aka Sergeant Michael Robertson, Yeoman of the Guard, VRF)
