The Yeomen of the Queens Guarde
Valecti Garde (Corporis) Domini Regina
Military Bearing and Conduct
- While you are on-stage, you ARE a member of an elite military unit. Your conduct reflects directly on Her Majesty, the Captain of the Guard and yourself. You are expected to conduct yourself in a manner of a soldier of the period, both when on and off duty.
- Proper military bearing will be maintained during drill and ceremony. Clowning and foolishness is not permitted in ranks.
- We are actors, not re-enactors. Our sole purpose is to enhance the enjoyment and the atmosphere for the patrons.
- When on duty, situational awareness is of a key concern. Be sure to maintain awareness of what the Queen, the nobles that you may be escorting, your comrades (other Yeomen) and the patrons are doing around you. Failure to do so, at the very least means a break in character and an unprofessional appearance. Of course, the difficult part of this is that you must watch everyone around you at the same time!
