The
Yeomen of the Queens Guarde
Valecti Garde (Corporis)
Domini Regina
Dedication
This guide could not have been written without the
facts that I have gleaned from a book written by Sir Julian Paget. It
is the greatest source of information about the Yeomen of the Guard
that I have yet to come across. I was happy to find a copy
at the Library of Congress.
It also couldn't have been written without the help that I have received
from my fellow actors at the Virginia Renaissance Faire, namely: Stacy Hicks,
Mary Kababik, Scott Christian, Justin Turlak, Mike Sanders, and the rest
of the Guilde of St. George (Good morrow, My Lords, Ladies, and... sundry
others!").
Of course, there would be no reason to write this guide without the example
set by the real Yeomen of the Guard, past and present. For centuries
they have been busy protecting the Kings and Queens of England. It
is to them that I dedicate this work.

To the Yeomen who have been or who still
are in Her Majesty's Service - Your dedication and loyalty never
cease to give me pause to admire you.
To Stacy, Scott, Steve & Justin - for your never ending patience and
your expert instruction. You took a risk with a "newbie" three
weeks from the close of the run for 1997 and changed my life forever.
To the old Guilde of St. George at the first Virginia Renaissance Faire -
Thank you for your patience and the fine example that you set for me to try
to follow. All of you truly were a tough act to follow. And to all
of the performers of the old VRF - wherever you are, keep on keeping on.
With luck, it may all work out for us to do it all over again.
Last, but certainly not least, to Bobby,
Lynn, Bill and the rest of the St. George Productions cast, I thank
you from the bottom of my heart for your hard work, support and friendship.
These things are truly treasures that cannot be given a value.
Michael R. Sanders
